What is the Natural Law Party?
The Natural Law Party stands for prevention-oriented government, conflict-free politics, and proven solutions to America's problems designed to bring the life of the nation into harmony with natural law. These proven solutions can lower health care costs by 50%, reduce crime by at least 40%, and simultaneously balance the budget and lower taxes through the billions of dollars saved. Most importantly, the Natural Law Party offers verified programs that can quickly reduce the pervasive stress and tension plaguing our society, thereby creating a more harmonious and progressive life for everyone. Through its prevention-oriented approach to government, the Natural Law Party is changing the face of politics for the good and has arisen in response to the call of the time for a new knowledge to revitalize America and reestablish a prosperous, educated, and laudable system of democracy.

The Party's platform includes:

Natural health care programs to prevent disease, promote health, and significantly cut costs;
Renewable energy production and energy conservation;
Natural, sustainable agriculture practices to increase crop yields and profitability without hazardous chemical fertilizers and pesticides;
Effective, field-tested community development and crime prevention programs, such as the Transcendental Meditation program in prisons to reduce inmate recidivism;
Lowering taxes responsibly through cost-effective solutions to problems, rather than by cutting essential services;
Educational programs that develop the inner creative genius of the student;
Reducing government waste and special interest control of our politics.

HISTORY:
The Natural Law Party was founded in April 1992 and quickly qualified for the ballot in 32 states; fielded 125 candidates, and the Party's presidential candidate, Dr. Hagelin, received federal matching funds. In 1994 the Natural Law Party ran 100 candidates in 20 states for federal, state and local offices. 1996 STRATEGY: The Natural Law Party is on target to run 1000 candidates on the ballot in all 50 states to give voters a viable choice in the 1996 election.

CURRENT STATUS:
By the end of January 1996, the Natural Law Party will have qualified for the ballot in Ohio, California, Alabama, Nevada, North Dakota, Mississippi, Nebraska, Utah, Vermont, South Carolina, and Montana. Next up: Texas, Florida, North Carolina, Hawaii, Arizona, Wyoming, Oklahoma, Tennessee, South Dakota, and New Mexico.

To date over 200 people have stepped forward to run as candidates in Ohio, California, and Texas alone. (Ross Perot's Reform Party has only three candidates running for office in just one state--California.)

Extensive scientific research and decades of experience in the public and private sectors show that technologies that harness natural law--nature's intelligence--can solve the critical problems and improve the quality of life for everyone in society.

Life in Harmony with Natural Law is the Only Solution
This is not an abstract idea. It is clear that bringing life in harmony with natural law is the only way problems can be solved. For example, we know that natural, prevention-oriented health care, which enlivens the healing mechanisms within the human body, is the only effective way to prevent disease, improve health, and reduce health care costs. We also know that natural, sustainable agricultural practices are the only way to maximize crop yield and profitability without poisoning the food or damaging the environment.

Policies and practices that are in harmony with natural law are safe and cost-effective. Practices that violate natural law, such as high chemical pesticide use in agriculture and medicines that cause harmful side-effects, can create many more serious problems than they solve.

In every area of national life there are proven programs that maximize the precious resources of the nation in a natural way. A majority of Americans would support the adoption of these practices, but they are not being used by government. The Natural Law Party is not beholden to special interests and is not caught in the web of partisan politics. It will bring these programs to government for the benefit of the present generation and all future generations.

The Most Precious Resource of the Nation
It is clear that the most precious natural resource of the nation is the intelligence, or consciousness, of the people. This resource has been overlooked by government. That failure is the fundamental cause of all problems now confronting our nation. The life of the individual can be brought in tune with natural law through simple, universal programs for developing consciousness. These programs have been shown by scientific research to reduce stress, improve health, and unfold the unlimited creative potential within everyone.

Bringing the Support of Nature to the Government
America is in the grip of an epidemic of stress. Crime, violence, drug abuse, and all other problems have their basis in accumulated social stress, caused by everyone in society violating natural law. Programs for developing consciousness can also be used to bring national consciousness as a whole in harmony with natural law. Research on demonstration projects conducted in cities, states, and nations throughout the world shows that small groups of people practicing the Transcendental Meditation and TM-Sidhi program--as little as the square root of one percent of a population--reduce social stress, crime, violence, and conflict, and improve positive social and economic trends. For this reason, the Natural Law Party would support the establishment of a Group for a Government--5,000 to 10,000 experts to enliven natural law in national consciousness and bring the support of "/1996/primary/party/nature's government" to the government of the nation.

The Natural Law Party Gains Ballot Access in California

Four months ago, the Natural Law Party achieved ballot access in California. Over 104,000 California voters registered as new members of the Natural Law Party during our six-month ballot access drive, far surpassing the 89,000 required by the state for qualification. In addition, 70 Natural Law Party candidates have stepped forward to run for federal, state, and local offices. The Natural Law Party is now the third largest political party in California in some areas, even larger than the Republican party and is rapidly emerging as AmericaUs third party.

In response to this success, the national press has published over 400 articles about the Natural Law Party since mid-October, including front-page stories in the Los Angeles Times, the San Francisco Chronicle, the Sacramento Bee, and the San Diego Union. Dr. Hagelin has also appeared on CNNUs RInside PoliticsS and RHeadline News,S as well as on local affiliates of all the major networks and countless radio talk shows. Most recently, C-Span aired Dr. HagelinUs 45-minute press conference at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C.

In December, the Natural Law Party became the first third party in 20 years to gain ballot access in Ohio, gathering over 35,000 valid petition signatures and thereby eclipsing Ross Perot Us Reform Party, which failed to qualify. The Natural Law Party next achieved ballot access in Alabama, Mississippi, Nevada, North Dakota, South Carolina, Utah, and Vermont, and is currently running ballot access drives in 17 other states. Moreover, the Natural Law Party has fielded 200 candidates in California, Ohio, and Texas alone candidates who are already campaigning to promote the Natural Law PartyUs proven solutions to AmericaUs problems.

The Natural Law Party is moving rapidly toward its goal for 1996: to be on the ballot in all 50 states and to run 1,000 candidates for federal, state, and local offices.
