Gloria Estela La Riva | Peace &Freedom

Gloria Estela La Riva is a labor, community and anti-war activist. Born in Albuquerque, N.M., her father was a letter carrier, her mother an immigrant from Mexico and garment worker. La Riva attended Brandeis University where she was active in affirmative action struggles. She is a member of Peace and Freedom Party in California since 1981, and in 1994 and 1998, was the PFP's candidate for Governor. La Riva's program says: A job or income, health care, free education from pre-k through university, and affordable housing should be Constitutional rights; Shut all U.S. military bases around the world, bring all U.S. armed forces home, end all U.S. aid to Israel, lift the blockade of Cuba, free Puerto Rico; End racism, police brutality and mass incarceration and free political prisoners; Honor Native treaties; Defend unions and a $15/hr minimum wage; Equal rights for women including full reproductive rights; Full equality for LGBTQ people; Full rights for all immigrants; Nationalize the banks and corporations, and jail Wall St. criminals.

Lynn S. Kahn

Lynn S. Kahn | Peace &Freedom

I am an independent candidate with a clear platform -- Fix Government, Build Peace: transform federal agencies while building peace here at home and around the world.

I worked as an organizational psychologist inside federal agencies for 32 years, including 6½ years on the White House Partnership to Reinvent Government. My vision is an America that works for everyone with no one left out. My goals include 25 million new jobs; world-class public health; community policing; fair taxation; compassionate immigration; 100% clean energy; honoring our commitments to veterans, seniors and Native Americans; a true 21st century economy; and foreign policies that recognize We the People are wiser than warfare.

My 7-track plan will accomplish that: Cut 1 Trillion Dollars of Government Waste and Invest those Savings in our Communities; Multiply Solutions; Transform Federal Agencies; Build Partnerships; Communicate Honestly; Measure the Truth; and Build Peace.

I know federal agencies: what works, what doesn't, what changes to make. For example, the Department of Justice mission emphasizes "control, enforcement and punishment." That won't solve mass incarceration, school-to-prison pipelines or community-police tensions. We must change missions, re-set priorities, insert new requirements in budgets and reverse policies that grow poverty, lousy schools, unemployment and incarceration.

That transformation work must be done in every federal agency using Citizen Summits so We the People shape federal priorities. Our 21st century challenge is creating a more perfect union — bringing together diverse points of view to generate new strength. My White House will: Transform America by Transforming Government.

Monica Moorehead

Monica Moorehead | Peace &Freedom

I am running for President with Lamont Lilly for Vice President to talk about real issues and organizing for revolutionary solutions for the long haul.

The elections only bring cosmetic changes. Reforming capitalism will not solve the greatest problems facing humanity if the system that requires war, racism, mass incarceration and exploitation remains intact. As climate activists say, "we need system change, not climate change."

My campaign declares that "Elections will matter when Black Lives matter." Elections will not stop the police terror on the Black Community or end the raids and deportations.

The only time there is change is when the people rise up and fight for it. No government will cancel the student debt, bring more jobs or guarantee healthcare without a massive mobilization from below.

The election of a Republican or a Democrat may usher in a period of reaction. But it will also bring a revolutionary response.

We are traveling the country building solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement, resisting imperialist wars, fighting for a $15 minimum wage and a union, and opposing the war on immigrants. We will converge at the Republican and Democratic Conventions and demand justice for Tamir Rice, for Flint, and money for the cities not for a wall!

All lives will matter when workers and oppressed peoples matter. We must build the fight for socialist revolution to end ALL forms of exploitation and terror.

We want a workers' world. This is the message of our campaign.
