My campaign for President cuts across traditional political divisions like Republican verses Democrat by appealing to the desire of all Americans for liberty and equality under the law. As long as government has virtually unlimited power to tax and regulate, I believe that special interests will control policymaking. As President, I will protect the American people from special interests by sharply reducing government's ability to take our money, tell us what to do, and restrict our liberty. I will take money and power from government and return it to you, so together we can build a free and prosperous America. I will work to limit the federal government to protecting our lives, rights, and property, as outlined in the Constitution, which would enable us to cut spending, balance the budget, and ultimately get rid of the income tax and the IRS. I believe that we should cut taxes and bureaucratic red-tape, which will empower businesses, especially small businesses, to create jobs and boost wages, plus let you keep what you earn. We should maintain a strong national defense to deter potential adversaries from attacking America, but should stop intervening in the quarrels of other nations and providing aid to authoritarian regimes. We must also resist the temptation to sacrifice our liberty in the name of security. I would act to repeal misguided laws like the USA Patriot Act, which weaken our national security by undermining our liberty. Take a stand - get involved - make a difference. Vote Gary Nolan for President.

I have announced my campaign to run for President of the United States as a Libertarian candidate because I am extremely upset over America's economic decline, the Patriot Act, the unconstitutional War in Iraq and the revamping of the draft board. My campaign strategy parallels the grassroots approach that I demonstrated while running in a controversial race for Governor of Nevada in 1998, where I garnered 26% of the vote in a four-way race. I defy categorization as either Republican or Democrat, right-or-left-wing. Neither of the two major political parties serves the people's interests. Compare my positions on the U.S. economy, the Patriot Act, and the War in Iraq with those of the current presidential candidates on my website (www.russoforpresident.com). The opposing parties are very similar because they both support the Patriot Act, keeping troops in Iraq, and increased federal spending. As President, I will immediately repeal the Patriot Act. No candidate is openly discussing the coming military draft. As President, I will bring our troops home from Iraq and make certain that the draft is not implemented. I am outraged by the handling of our economy, which has $44 trillion in unfounded liabilities. Yet current candidates intend to increase government spending which is the root cause of our economic problems. By being sincere and respecting the Constitution; people will come out and vote. No more voting for the lesser of two evils. I believe a third-party candidate, who offers a real choice, can win this election.
