It is an honor to serve as your President during this historic time. Together, our nation has faced and met great challenges. America is a safer, more prosperous, and better nation because we have acted on principle and made progress for the American people. Our armed forces, joined by our allies, continue on the offensive against terrorist enemies around the world. Our homeland is more secure, seniors have greater access to quality healthcare and prescription drugs, and more Americans are realizing the dream of homeownership. Our economy is growing at a robust pace, and our schools are more accountable to parents and communities. We have also worked together to protect our environment and open up new markets for America's farmers and manufacturers. We are advancing an agenda of compassionate conservatism by rallying the armies of compassion to ensure that every person, every child, and every community can be a part of the American dream. There is still much work to be done, and we will continue to work hard to meet the challenges of our time. I intend to make good use of every day I have the honor of serving the American people, and hope that through your support, I will be fortunate enough to serve a second term.
